Porcelain Veneers
Northern Virginia, including Arlington, Tysons Corner, Alexandria, Fairfax, and McLean, Virginia Cosmetic Dentistry
Your smile is one of the first things people notice about your face. Straight, white teeth typically indicate cleanliness, class, and beauty. Teeth that are discolored, crooked, or otherwise unattractive can lower your self-confidence making you feel awkward or hesitant to show your smile.
What are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are wafer thin, porcelain shells that cover your existing teeth and are one way to correct a variety of common cosmetic issues including:
- Chips and cracks caused by any number of injuries, accidents, or dental issues
- Stains from coffee, tea, antibiotics, and nicotine
- Genetic issues such as crooked teeth, teeth that are unevenly sized or shaped, and teeth that are inconsistently spaced
Porcelain veneers are custom created to fit your exact smile and molded and shaped to match adjacent teeth, making them a very attractive alternative to more costly, time-consuming solutions. Porcelain also reflects light in the same manner as natural teeth, providing a seamless, beautiful smile.
Process for Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are a simple, noninvasive solution for a perfect smile. A local anesthetic is used, so you will be comfortable during the procedure.
During your initial office visit, we will:
- Reduce the enamel from the front of the teeth that will receive the veneers
- Place temporary veneers over the teeth
- Take an impression of the reduced teeth and send it to our master dental technician
During your second office visit, we will:
- Fit you with your new porcelain veneers
- Fine tune and permanently bond your veneersÂ
The process for veneers is a quick, comfortable, and effective way to create beautiful smiles.
Lumineers®
Lumineers are an ultrathin solution for the same issues porcelain veneers solve with a few differences:
- No anesthetic is necessary to receive Lumineers because teeth are reduced less than with traditional porcelain veneers.
- Lumineers’ thinness makes them more translucent than standard porcelain veneers, giving them a pearly white appearance.
- The Lumineer procedure is reversible because so little tooth structure is removed.
