After you have had your porcelain veneers placed, you will want to maintain good dental hygiene to help ensure they last as long as possible. Veneers have the ability to provide a straight, white, and beautiful smile for several years, but failure to properly care for them will result in aesthetic imperfections and require their removal and replacement.
Before your veneer placement by one of the Arlington cosmetic dentists at Galleria Dental Aesthetics, we will discuss with you proper dental hygiene with porcelain veneers. We will continue to check the strength and appearance of your veneers after they have been placed during your regularly scheduled cleanings and examinations.
Maintaining Dental Hygiene with Veneers
Just like your natural teeth, veneers will need to be brushed after every meal and snack. It is also a good idea to floss at least once daily to remove plaque and food particles from between your teeth. This is particularly important with veneers to help guard against bacteria getting underneath the veneer and decaying the underlying tooth.
In addition to your at home routine, you will want to continue to visit our office for cleanings and examinations every six months.
