Many of our Fairfax-area patients who are interested in teeth whitening have already undergone other cosmetic procedures, such as porcelain veneers or crowns. As such, they’re curious about how that limits their teeth whitening options.
The good news is that there is no evidence that the standard teeth whitening options we offer at Galleria Dental Aesthetics represent any kind of danger to pre-existing dental work.
Our dentists will never perform any procedure that would put your overall dental health or aesthetic objectives at risk. Fortunately, there is no such risk with our teeth whitening services.
One of the other relevant teeth whitening questions we hear frequently is, “Will the whitening treatments also whiten the dental work I’ve already received?”
The answer there is “no.” Our teeth whitening treatments, and the at-home trays and treatments you can buy at the drug store, are all designed to whiten natural enamel. They will not have the same effect on crowns, bridges, veneers or other dental work.
If uniform whiteness is an important cosmetic objective for you, we can custom-design replacement dental work to match your newly whitened teeth. Our cosmetic dentists will discuss your options with you when the time comes.
