If you are over the age of 16 and are interested in addressing misaligned, spaced, or crooked teeth, our team of professionals at Galleria Dental Aesthetics are happy to help with two popular orthodontic treatment options. With both Invisalign aligner trays and traditional metal braces, our team can assist patients in achieving their dream smile quickly and easily.
What methods of treatment are available?
- Invisalign – Invisalign is a popular choice for patients with mild to moderate misalignment of the smile, as it can quickly achieve results in a discreet way. With the use of a custom set of trays, patients gradually push their teeth in to the final alignment. This is achieved with wearing the trays for at least 20 hours a day and progressing through the series until the final alignment tray.
- Traditional orthodontics – those with moderate to severe misalignment and malocclusion may still require traditional metal braces to achieve the results they desire. With the use of brackets and wires, the teeth are repositioned into alignment. Patients might find that they need these braces for longer as they are better suited for those with more severe misalignment issues that require more time to resolve.
What’s the fastest way to straighten the smile?
It can be difficult to determine the fastest solution as both Invisalign and traditional braces require different periods of time depending on how severe a patient’s teeth are misaligned. Cases of mild crooked teeth or spacing can be easily addressed in a few months with Invisalign trays, while more severe cases of malocclusion may still be better suited for traditional braces over the course of a year or two. To determine which one is right for you, we strongly encourage our patients to schedule an evaluation and initial consultation to speak to our provider about the goals they would like to achieve with their smile.
